Carmel · Stretch Practitioners
Your table, your brand, no franchise
The assisted stretching boom created thousands of trained practitioners and almost no good rooms for the ones who go independent. FlexWerk at Carmel City Center rents fully private rooms by the hour: you bring your table, you set your rates, you keep everything you charge. The first hour is free, which is exactly one client session's worth of proof.

The market did you a favor
The franchise proved the demand. You do not need the franchise.
Stretch franchises taught consumers that hands-on flexibility work is worth paying for on its own, separate from massage and separate from training. But working inside one typically means employee wages on services clients pay premium prices for, and opening one means franchise fees plus a storefront lease. The solo practitioner sits in the gap: you have the certification and the hands, and the missing piece is a room that looks like the service costs what you charge.
That is a solvable problem. An hourly private room gives you the professional setting without the storefront economics, and because the cost attaches per booked hour, a practice of eight sessions a week is viable from day one instead of after a lease-break-even climb.
Ten minutes of staging
Your table, your setup, your room
Be clear-eyed about what the room is. A FlexSpace is a private, fully equipped training room, not a spa, and there is no table on site. The treatment table in your trunk is the centerpiece of your studio, along with your straps, bolsters, and whatever else your method uses. In practice that is a light lift: a folding table sets up in minutes, and your studio packs up as quickly as it sets up.
- Fully private rooms with a door that closes: no shared floor, no walk-through traffic
- Controllable lighting and your own music streaming, so the room feels like your service
- WiFi and a TV/monitor for intake notes, mobility video, or virtual follow-ups
- Quietly useful strength equipment: many practitioners layer in mobility and light loading work, and the cable system and dumbbells cover it without extra gear
- Longer sessions and couples fit the larger Plus room; see how back-to-back client sessions work before you build your schedule template
- Stack clients into a morning or evening block in the same room and set up once per block instead of once per session
The local client base
Who buys assisted stretching in this market
Desk-bound professionals
The Meridian corridor holds the second-largest concentration of office workers in Indiana, and 23.3 percent of Hamilton County works from home. Hours in a chair create exactly the tightness people book stretch sessions to address, and this population can afford weekly standing appointments.
Older adults protecting mobility
Carmel's affluent retirees invest in staying limber and independent, and a private room suits clients who would never lie on a table on a gym floor.
Recreational athletes
Runners off the Monon Greenway, golfers, and tennis players treat flexibility work as maintenance, especially in a market where roughly 52 percent of clients now look for a specialist rather than a generalist.
One caution that protects your business: stay inside your training and scope. Assisted stretching is a wellness service, not treatment, and anything that smells like diagnosing or rehabbing an injury belongs with the client's physician or a licensed provider.
The math
Three paths, one that scales with you
Mobile, in clients' homes
Drive time between every session, unbilled. Hard to charge premium rates on a living-room floor.
Studio or spa sublease
Fixed monthly rent, used or not, with someone else's brand on the door.
Hourly private room
Only the hours you book, under your own brand, at a premium address. While your book builds from four sessions a week toward twenty, your space cost stays proportional the entire way.
FlexSpace Standard $18/hour (150 sq ft, 1-on-1) ·FlexSpace Plus $22/hour (200 sq ft, up to 4 guests) ·Cardio from $12/hour · First hour free for fitness professionals · VIP pricing for regulars by qualification

A quieter advantage
The building does part of your marketing
FlexWerk Carmel houses more than 40 fitness professionals seeing their own clients every week, which makes it a strong referral hallway for a stretch practitioner. Trainers constantly meet clients who need dedicated flexibility work that does not fit inside a training hour, and a practitioner they can walk a client to is an easy handoff.
Add walk-by visibility at Carmel City Center, steps from the Monon Trail with garage parking a short walk away, and the location does quiet work for your brand. When you set prices, look at what premium one-on-one services command in Carmel rather than what franchises pay their staff; the private-room setting is precisely what moves you into the higher band.
Decide from inside the room
Fold up the objections the way you fold up the table: book the free first hour, stage the room exactly as your clients would see it, and decide from inside the room rather than from a spreadsheet.

Common questions
Stretch practitioners ask us
Does FlexWerk provide a stretch table?
No. Rooms come equipped for strength and conditioning, and specialty tools like a portable treatment table, straps, or percussion devices are yours to bring. Most independent stretch practitioners already own a folding table that travels easily.
Is a private room big enough for table work?
A FlexSpace Standard is 150 square feet for one or two guests, and a Plus is 200 square feet for up to four, so a portable table plus working room around it is comfortable. The free first hour exists so you can set up your table and judge the fit yourself.
How do bookings work between stretch clients?
Rooms rent by the hour through the FlexWerk app, with facility hours of 5 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and 7 AM to 4 PM on weekends. You book the hours you have clients and keep 100 percent of what you charge.
