Individual athlete development, behind your own door

Hamilton County is packed with youth athletes and short on places where a performance coach can train them privately. FlexWerk at Carmel City Center rents private, fully equipped training suites by the hour: a controlled, distraction-free environment for 1-on-1 and small-group athlete development, with no lease and a free first hour for coaches.

The local landscape

A county that trains athletes at industrial scale

Between Grand Park in Westfield, 400 acres with 31 multipurpose fields and 26 diamonds drawing roughly 1.5 million visitors a year, school programs like Carmel High School's 2025-26 MaxPreps Cup winners, and the Carmel Dads' Club with 15,000+ annual participants, this county's youth-sports infrastructure is enormous. What it serves brilliantly is teams.

What it serves poorly is the individual athlete who needs focused development: the freshman who has to get stronger before spring, the pitcher rebuilding mechanics-supporting strength, the athlete coming back from a summer growth spurt with new limbs to control. Coaches doing that work have been improvising venues, a corner of a commercial gym floor at 4 PM, a garage, leftover turf time, and each fails the same way: the coach controls neither the equipment nor the environment, and the parent paying premium rates can see it.

The demand is already here

These families already buy development everywhere else in the county. What they cannot easily buy is an hour of a qualified coach's undivided attention in a room built for it. That is the gap a private suite fills.

What changes in a private suite

Every variable, yours for the hour

A FlexSpace puts the coach in control for the booked hour: the equipment, the environment, and the athlete's attention.

  • Equipment without competition: Standard suites (150 sq ft, 1 or 2 guests) built around a custom lifting rack, cable system, and dumbbells with 850+ exercises. Your athlete never waits for a rack behind three adults doing curls
  • Plus suites (200 sq ft, up to 4 guests) expand to 1,100+ exercises for pairs and small groups
  • Conditioning tools that fit indoor work: cardio suites carry curved treadmills, HYDROW rowers, and CLMBR machines for capacity and low-impact volume
  • Zero-distraction focus: teenagers focus differently in a private room than on a public floor. No phones-out peers, no self-consciousness about being the youngest person lifting
  • Film on demand: every suite has a TV/monitor and WiFi and is deliberately filming-friendly. Record a lift, review it on the screen thirty seconds later, send it to the athlete's club coach

The filming loop is a trust instrument

Parents paying for private development want to see it working. A clip of this month's squat next to last month's, reviewed on the suite's screen at pickup, communicates progress better than any report card of sets and reps. Coaches who build that habit find it does their client-retention work for them. For pairs and small training groups, thesemi-private training modelis often the sweet spot of quality and price for families.

The business side

Hourly beats leased for individual work

Cost tracks demand

Youth performance income is seasonal and clustered: after school, evenings, weekends, off-seasons. Suites book by the hour through the FlexWerk app, so a dead mid-season month costs you almost nothing while a packed December of off-season blocks earns at full margin.

You keep 100% of your rate

No facility split. Hamilton County families are accustomed to paying premium rates for individual development, with private coaching commonly at $75 to $125 or more per hour at the premium tier, so margin per session is strong. Standard runs $18/hour, Plus $22/hour, Cardio from $12/hour, and your first hour is free.

Parents' logistics are easy

Carmel City Center sits central to Carmel, Westfield, Fishers, and Zionsville, steps from the Monon Trail with garage parking a short walk away. Hours of 5 AM to 9 PM weekdays and 7 AM to 4 PM weekends wrap around school and practice: the 4 to 8 PM after-school block and weekend mornings are fully inside them.

Full rates on the pricing page. VIP pricing exists for regulars by qualification: ask a host.

Honesty about format

Where a suite is wrong, and where it is right

Not for team training

No turf lengths, no sprint alleys, no room for twelve athletes and cones. If your model is team-speed sessions, you need field-house time, and no suite changes that.

Built for everything individual

Strength development, return-to-play progressions built with the athlete's medical team (clinical decisions always belong with their physician), technical lifting instruction, small-group off-season strength blocks, and the college-prep athlete who needs adult-quality training in an age-appropriate setting.

Many coaches run both: field-house hours for team work, suite hours for the individual clients who are, per hour, the best-paying part of the practice. Being candid about that split earns parents' trust faster than claiming one venue does everything.

Common questions

Performance coaches ask us

How many athletes can I train at once?

FlexSpace Standard rooms host 1 or 2 guests and FlexSpace Plus up to 4. The format is built for privates, pairs, and small groups, not team-sized sessions.

Is the equipment appropriate for youth athletes?

Rooms carry a custom lifting rack, cable system, and dumbbells, with 850+ exercises in Standard and 1,100+ in Plus, plus cardio rooms with curved treadmills, HYDROW rowers, and CLMBR machines. Coaches scale loading and exercise selection to each athlete’s age and level.

Can parents watch the session?

Yes. Clients of coaches get free guest access, and a Plus room comfortably fits an athlete, a coach, and a parent. Many families prefer that visibility.
