What Is a Private Training Suite (FlexSpace)?

A private training suite is a self-contained gym room — rack, cables, dumbbells, cardio, screens, sound — that one fitness professional books at a time for their own client sessions. At FlexWerk in Carmel these are called FlexSpaces, and they rent by the hour with no lease or membership.
The concept exists because the traditional options — crowded floors and expensive private studios — force a bad choice between environment and economics. A suite is the environment without the overhead.
What’s inside a FlexSpace
- FlexSpace Standard (150 sq ft, 1–2 guests): custom lifting rack, cable system, and dumbbells supporting 850+ exercises, plus a TV/monitor, music streaming, and WiFi.
- FlexSpace Plus (230 sq ft, up to 5 guests): the expanded build — 1,100+ exercises — for semi-private and small-group sessions.
- Cardio suites: HYDROW rowers, CLMBR machines, and curved treadmills in single-guest rooms.
Every suite is genuinely private — a door that closes — with the lighting, music, and screen under the professional’s control. The environment is deliberately built to be filmable: many coaches produce their content during regular sessions.
Suite vs. gym floor: the practical differences
| Private suite | Commercial gym floor | |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment access | Yours for the hour | Shared, contested |
| Client privacy | Complete | None |
| Environment | Your music, lighting, brand | The house’s |
| Cost model | Per booked hour | Membership + revenue split |
| Professional image | Premium by default | Depends on the crowd |
That privacy line matters more than trainers expect: beginners, executives, postpartum clients, and anyone with gym anxiety behave — and stay — differently in a room of their own.
Who books suites
Personal trainers and strength coaches running client sessions are the core users — more than 40 fitness professionals operate out of FlexWerk Carmel today. Around them: physical therapists seeing cash-pay patients, online coaches filming, and pairs or small groups training semi-privately in Plus suites. (Private individuals who just want a crowd-free workout book through the client side at flexwerkfitness.com.)
The facility runs 5 AM–9 PM weekdays and 7 AM–4 PM weekends at Carmel City Center, steps from the Monon Trail. The fastest way to understand a suite is to stand in one — the first hour is free.
Related questions
How big is a FlexSpace?
Standard suites are 150 sq ft, sized for 1-on-1 and pair training; Plus suites are 230 sq ft for small groups. Purpose-designed layouts make both train larger than the number suggests.
What cardio equipment is available?
Cardio suites feature HYDROW rowers, CLMBR vertical climbers, and curved treadmills — connected equipment with no extra subscription required.
Can I film in a suite?
Yes — suites are deliberately optimized for filming, virtual training, and social content, which is why online coaches book them as recording sets.
